Junior Speaking Contest

Junior Speaking Contest

On January 24th we had the the pleasure of listening to speeches, delivered by students from 2At en 3At in the context of the annual Junior Speaking Contest. They all had to work out this year’s theme: “What makes the world go round?” After the first round, six  were selected for the finales. In front of an attentive audience they showed the best of their speaking.  Originality, content and the quality of delivering the speech is essential for a speaking contest.

In the jury we had Liselot Gerdes (5At), Peter Birdsall and Daniel O’ Connell, both from Wittenborg  University – Business School – Research Centre.

Choosing the best candidate was not an easy task, so It took the jury quite a while to decide.  The winners are Eline ten Grotenhuis (2At) and Karianne Haak (3At). They both impressed with  a well-structured, inspirational and heartfelt speech in which they expressed their personal view and ideas about how to make the world a better place to live in, i.e. to keep the world go round.
Both will now go on to the Regional Rounds on February 14, in Apeldoorn.
